Our rules of play are designed to keep everyone safe. We ask all visitors to our play centre to abide by the following rules of play to keep themselves and those around them as safe as possible.

  • The centre is designed for children aged 0-6, additional guidance regarding height and age recommendations on individual play structures can be found within the centre.
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for the supervision, safety and behaviour of their children at all times.
  • Only children aged 2 and under are allowed in the toddler area with adult supervision required at all times. 
  • Only babies and parents are allowed to use the baby zone and sensory room.
  • Older children over the permitted entry height of 125cm are not permitted in the play area at any time, not even to supervise younger children, unless specifically admitted as part of a workshop or supervised session.
  • To reduce the risk of friction burns, arms and legs should be covered even on hot days. Our centres are air conditioned to keep play as cool and fun as possible.
  • Clothes with cords that could catch in the equipment should not be worn in the play area.
  • No sharp objects, pens, belts with buckles, jewellery, hair pins, money, etc. may be taken into the play areas.
  • Do not take bags and baby seats into the toddler area. We recommend safely storing all personal items. Lockers are available to use. Customers must supply their own padlock.
  • Do not take pushchairs and seats into the play area, we have a pram storage area within the centre.
  • Explore and Play cannot accept liability for any personal property.
  • For safety, it is forbidden to climb on the netting. Balls or other objects should not be thrown at each other. To use the climbing frame safely, always descend in a seated position with legs facing forward. Do not play in front of any of the slide exits.
  • For hygiene and safety, adults and children must wear socks or tights. Socks can be purchased at reception if needed.
  • Shoes must not be worn in the play area. Shoes can be stored in lockers or in the stow pockets by the play entrances.
  • Our centres are cleaned daily to kill bacteria. Children should use the anti-bac spray before entering the play area. 
  • Children who are unwell must not use the facilities.
  • No food, drinks, sweets or chewing gum to be taken into the play area. No chewing gum in the play centre.
  • Only food and drink purchased at Explore and Play can be consumed on the premises.
  • When using the cafe area, please discuss any allergies with our staff and make sure that they are aware of your requirements.
Members of staff monitor the play area and have access to first aid equipment. In the event you have a problem or any concerns, please talk to the manager or a member of staff. Parents or carers must supervise their children.
